Koni yellows with Eibach springs or Bilstein with H&R sport springs? Currently the car has sport suspension.

IMHO, sport suspension is as good as it gets. Nice firm feel without sacrificing ride quality. Too soft for you?

Considering the car has 124,000 miles on it, I think it's due for a change.

I wouldn't worry about the car. If you need a change, go for it, but the car will be fine.

Our A6 is running on 3 or the original 4 springs. I just replaced the rear shocks for the first time a few months ago. It was a waste of money; the originals were fine. The fronts, done at the same time, had 150k on them.

The A4 avant is all original at 170k. The shocks and springs last a looong time.

If the suspension feel loose of vague, you probably have other issues.

I'm not to worried about the car, I just had to replace the turbos and since the engine was out I had other things done on it. Feels like new under the hood.
As for the suspension, the rear of the car is drooping compared to the front which lends me to believe the rear shocks are done. Combine that with the brutally cold weather we have here in the winter, things tend to fail earlier than normal.

Springs determine ride height, not shocks. I wonder if you have a broken spring?
