Default 2000 a6 calipers? advice on seating piston
If you will help me seat the piston, that would be great. I need to finish the rear brakes and dont have time to track down the tool to turn the piston back in. Which way do you turn, and any advice will be appreciated. Paul

Clockwise. Do not use channel locks on the piston. Be careful not to twist and rip the boot. Piston must be twisted and pushed at the same time.

Thanks for the reply.I have been trying to push and turn, with no luck, clockwise . I appreciate the confirmation on tne direction. But it would not retrac as desired. Tried needlenose plires, with caliper still hoooked to hydrolics and e brake. Do you think it would help pulling caliper? I kinda doubt it. I never have any luck with gm rear disc brakes either.

What are you using to push it back in? I use large channel locks.

I suggest you buy the tool. Do not remove the caliper, it buys you nothing.

I suggest using the "free rent" available for the tool at the local Autozone. Cost = $0

Now thats a great idea! Thanks. I usually just buy the stuff I need, but this will be an exeption. I dont see many Audis.
