Help "Steering Rack"

At dealership yesterday, for vehicle being hard to turn when at very slow speeds, but eases up when you accelerate. Thinking it may be the Power steerign pump they came back with the valve is messed up not leaking in steering rack to the tune of $2100 for the rack alone and $800 for the Power steering pump

so my question are there cheaper alternatives out there

YGPM. I've got a rack from a 2.7T

Your trick would be the installation.

steering rack is a pain, takes time and can be expensive. since the location of the rack is wierd in our audis
