Default Increasing displacement from 1.8 to 2.0...

If i want to increase displacement from 1.8 to 2.0 what are my options. In the old cars(MK2) I used to switch cranks or short blocks from a donor car. What crank to use? or What block to use? What would be the best option? and the best donor? any sugestions. Looking for options to get more power from a big turbo set up and take advantage of the awd. 01 TT 225Q

These aren't japense cars. The aftermarket is pretty weak. If you want to build power your better off buying a 1g eclipse. Most companies want $7k for a kit to get 400hp on these tt's. You could by a used eclipse, injectors, turbo, and fuel management system for $7k and get about 500whp or more. LOL

I have not seen stroker cranks for these. But if you find one for a 225hp I am sure you will have to sell a kid in india or china to afford it.

For the most part. Your main option is to bore the block and change rods and pistons. Or get pistons that are taller or shorter depending what you want and reuse the rods.

There are a cars with 400+ awhp with systems that are not kits and it can be done if you know what are you doing. Japanese cars are not cheap either my GTI is fully built and I spent less money than people that i Know that have built those cars and my car do better times than theirs. A TT can not be compare there is nothing ricey about it. : )

CincyTT on AudiForums built a 2008cc stroke/bore engine and has shared a lot of specs.
You can either use an AEG crank, or a 2.0TFSI crank, and then get pistons and rods to match.
This runs around $1500-2000, but then you have to worry about fueling and software. All together not a cheap mod.

TTransport on Q-W has a 2.2L BT build... you could probably ask him about it as well.

And since I can't edit my posts, here's a link to some tech FAQs on increasing power on the 1.8T.

Hate to break your bubble VW fan but 400WHP ain't jack on a 4g63t. At 400Whp your still a noob on tuning with a 1g eclipse gsx's. At 400hwp you still haven't had to replace a crank, pistons, or rods. Especially if its a daily driver for once in a while get on its.

Maybe you need to take your Eclipse experience to the Mitsu forum. You have shown nothing here, and you seem to be a real douche'
