Low beam/blinker issue
I came of class tonight and my car developed an interesting issue. Sorry, this is long, when I turn the headlight dial to the center position the parking lights/rear tails come on, but when I turn the dial one further to the "headlight on position" the low beam do not come on. The high beams do not work when the left stalk is pushed out, but the do work if the stalk if pulled back to flash. Also, the blinkers are not working under any circumstance, but like I said the high beam flash works as well as the cruise control. Before going into class it all worked ok. (I didn't have the headlights on but the blinkers worked) and the headlights worked last night. Any ideas or has anyone had a similar issues? Any thoughts are appreciated. BTW, the car is a 99 A6 sedan with factory xenon.

Fixed!
I figured it out, if this happens to others maybe this will help: the car was for some odd reason fitted with an aftermarket security system prior to my ownership (it was also removed prior to my ownership). So the system was wired into the left blinker stalk assembly and the wire they tapped was poorly refitted and the wire was too short so when tilting/telescoping the wheel the wire was pinched, which created a short. So I simply fixed the wire and sure enough, it's now 100% operational.
