Handbrake cable seized
My driver side handbrake is been engaged for like 2 days now..
And I thought the caliper might be rusted.. I took the wheel off this afternoon and I found the handbrake cable it bad. (it is rusted and seized)
I am hoping if anyone can provide any information regarding how to remove it.
Do I have to remove and replace the cable from the caliper all the way to handbrake lever? Is there a mid-section where I can disconnect and replace?
Any one with pictures or step-by-step to help me in doing this? (I really hope I don't have to take off my exhaust and driveshaft)
Any information will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks all
Gil
Very certain the caliper is perfectly fine. But the cable itself, it does not move. Either I pull or release the handbrake handle, the cable does not move a bit. So it is for sure seized.
I am currently disconnected it. I really need help because where I live has alot of hills... and I often park on the hills...
Please help!
Thanks!
Everytime I come across a problem with Audi, I am pissed about the $110 I paid for the Bentley Manual I paid for my Audi A6. And since my computer were screwed by virus, I lost all my keys due to reformat without de-activating.
Please, can someone help me.
Thanks!
