HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!
i AM THE OWNER OF A 1996 AUDI 2.8E A6 AND I HAVE A PROBLEM.
THE OIL IS OVERHEATING WHILE COOLANT GUAGE SHOWS NORMAL, BUT WATER IS BOILING. THE AC BLOWS OUT WARM AIR INTO THE CAR AND SWITCHES ON AUTOMATICALLY. IF ANY OF YOU HAVE AN IDEA ABOUT WHAT COULD BE WRONG, PLEASE REPLY HERE, OR TO MY E-MAIL. IM DESPERATE, PLEASE HELP ME.

What do you mean that oil is overheating?
When is this happening? Driving down the road? In traffic? Just since the weather got warmer?
Does AC ever work?
Any work done to the car recently?

The oil gauge shows that the oil is overheating and I can clearly smell the burning oil. It happens when im driving down the road, even at very short distances. The AC works, but we dont really use it. The weather hasnt got anything to do with it, because im from South Africa and its starting to get cooler here.
Lately, the engine top was checked and schemed, new gaskets have been fitted.

What caused you to have the heads off and 'schemed' (skimmed)? If it was overheating then it may be a problem with the water pump or thermostat and it really is overheating. If it is getting hot enough for the oil to smell like it is being burnt, then it really is hot andf I surprised it has not seized or at least, lost all it coolant.

you probably have a bad waterpump which is why the car is overheating and thus you get the burning oil smell. Do you see coolant everywhere? below the coolant reservoir there are many places where drainage from fressure can be seen on the hoses.
