Default Low speed clunk from front right fix number 47

I've seen that about half of the TT owners out there have had some kind of issue with a clunking from the front right side of the car at low speeds or backing out of a parking space. Me too. I think I've spotted yet another possible cause. The screw that holds my rotor on is broken off at the head. I'm assuming that it's not a critical part since A. it's not a very big screw B. the lug nuts go through the rotor C. It seems like it's been that way for a very long time. Now the big question is how in the world do I get that bastard out. I've drilled about an 1/8 deep circle into and tried hammering a flat head into it but no luck. Cameras broken (I mean for sale j/k) or I'd shoot a pic.
I was inspecting because my brake pad sensor is on and I was taking a look to see what I'd need to do for brake pads. Also was thinking about zimmerman cross-drilled and mintex red box since it's mainly just my daily driver. Just chipped, DV, TIP, intake and short shift. Any thoughts on that combo vs's others in that price range and mild aggressiveness?

get a set of quality easy outs. same idea as what you're working on now, but you drill a little deeper into the broken screw and thread a left handed "easy out" into the drilled out hole. then you get on the easy out with a socket and gently twist the broken piece of screw out.

probobly be able to source them at any auto parts store, sears, or harbor freight. good luck.

I had one break off flush. I drilled it for an easy out but when the drill went thru the other side it grabbed (as bits do when they go thru) and the screw turned with the drill and went all the way thru to the other side. Be VERY careful drilling to stay in the center of the screw and not "run out" into the threads of the hub. If you do damage the hub threads, turn the brake rotor to a different position and drill a new hole and thread it with the proper size tap. It is good to put a bit of grease on these threads when you install the rotor screw.

Get a reverse direction drill bit. Yes the heat will cause it to break loose while drilling.

Why are you bothering with that screw. Its only there to hold the rotors on and index the holes for lugs in the assembly plant before the wheels go on. No it is not a cause of knock.
