Coolant system malfuction

How's the oil temp?
If the oil temp stays cool too, then your thermostat might be stuck open. I had this happen to me on my 01 avant. Coolant temp and oil temp never seem to move. After a new thermostat along with the timing belt service, both of them rise quickly and stay in the normal range no matter under any operating conditions.
Anyway, check sensor first. It's cheap. Stoney's FAQ has a link, I remember.

Same problem here! It's the Coolant Temperature Sensor & Thermostat. I changed both of them and it worked. Also because of these I suspect it caused my car not to start anymore.
It's located on the passenger side, under the rubber intake hose. There is a tutorial on it with pictures here if you wanna change it. It's actually really in-expensive to change. And its an easy fix. Make sure you follow those directions and have some extra coolant ready to re-fill it. Not the AutoZone white coolant, but Audi's G12+ as the autozone brand eats the seals and crap that will later cause problems.
