Battery light ... strange smell....help.
So yesterday the battery light came on and voltage was reading about 12V while driving. Light was intermitant for awhile. Today took the car to Kragan to have the battery tested and voltage ready about 10V as pulling into the parking lot. Once I got there we were testing the battery and the car wouldnt start, we pulled the battery and tried to charge, no luck..
replaced battery and battery light is still on, voltage reads 12V at idle and while driving. I trided clearing codes but no luck on the light. Also I took it for another drive and noticed the light goes off once the rpm is above 2000, but comes on again when idling.
I also noticed that sometimes the light is dim, sometimes its bright... and my windows were really slow and acting strange (might be unrelated but it just started today)
I also noticed a strange bunring smell, not oil when i parked the car.
Any ideas on how to troubleshoot without going to the stealership?
