Suggestions for timing belt replacement?
Got estimates for timing belt + water pump replacement from a couple of the more reputable shops in the LA area, for $1,000 and $1,100 (orig $1,300 but discount since other work being done now). Any other suggestions to get this price down?

Maybe you can do something like a "group service" deal such as what people on other car forums do for "group buys." Essentially guaranteeing the shop additional customers at the price of slightly discounted service fee.
