Can't program my new key
1999 Audi A6 2.8q
I ordered a new key from Vinny at Audi Parts Depot in NJ, just got it. I searched forums and found multiple ways to program my key remote, but none seem to work. Now that I've tried them all....
Is there an official instruction guide to programming a remote for my vehicle?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

if you're asking if it's an immobilizer key, then no it's not. I can manually open doors and turn car on, but keyless remote needs to be programmed. I'll check the dashboard next time I have a chance, but I dont remember anything.

Sometimes it takes a while for the car to accept the new key...
For example, I followed the key programming routine for my wife's key, after the battey died and I replaced with new batteries. I stuck the good key in the ignition, and the other key in the driver door lock, followed all the steps, but my wife's keyfob would not unlock or lock the car. I gave up after a few tries, and figured that I needed to look at the instructions again.
An hour later, after finding nothing different in the procedures, I went back outside to try again, but then the keyfob worked.
