Turbos
Really dont want to upgrade to something else right now as I just need a working car back as my wifes lease is up and will soon need my Audi back. Also, what kind of prices should I be looking at for the labor on this turbo "swap" on a 2.7 A6?
If you got new turbos (K04s) with software and labor I recall it was going for around $6K
K03's will be less expensive, but the labor will be the same and you can avoid getting the software. I guess you could do the K04's on the stock software and upgrade later.
I would call Autobahn Premier Service, Avalon, SCR Peformance, 3Zero3 and get some estimates.
They have about 12K on them from what I was told when I bought them. They look in great shape.
I thought I could install them myself but not that inclined, as I just got them as insurance.
To put them in a S4 I was quoted $2000, or about 20 hours of labor.
As far as oil in the intercooler, i would make sure it's actually a real problem. The intercoolers on these 2.7ts are designed to be drained every so often and some oil is perfectly normal. If you're not billowing smoke or have dentist drills it might not actually be a problem [with the turbo(s)].
i'd just make sure before doing such a costly repair.
As gietl said, K03s are cheaper but in reality only by a few hundred dollars. the K04s are much less prone to failure and have a much higher potential should you choose to do upgrades later down the road.

Are you smoking any at all? At idle, off throttle or on full throttle? loosing coolant? Can you hear your turbos whine at all?

Turbos whine as normal.
Here is the longer story.
This is my daily driver. Hundered miles plus a day.
One day (kinda colder but not bad) I loaded the family in and started her up, put in drive and had some hesitation from the engine and noticed blue smoke. Immidiately turned off and towed (flatbed) to my mechanic. He looked it over and all seemed fine. Not losing boost, compression was excellent. He said he did check the PCV but now I am not sure, anyone want to point me into looking myself?
He dumped out some oil from the I/C and drove it. No loss of power, no hiccups and after a few miles no more smoke. After alot more trouble shooting her took it on the highway and drove fine but then started to smoke. Took the I/C pipe off again and more oil, so it seemed to keep filling up. After a while I decided I did not want do dump thousands into it right now (since I just finished about $2100 in maintenance on it)and went to pick it up. Drove it about 40 miles home and no smoke, no lag, no loss of power. Seems fine....but eventually will fill up again. Would i notice a loss of power if the oil seal was bad? Any way I can check this PCV valve on my own?
