Autolocking WTF ?

Autolocking WTF ?
The car automatically locks itself when you walk away from the car for 60 seconds.
I've tried several different recoding options. I've been able to modify the remote control window up/down feature.
However, the car STILL locks itself. WTF?
Any pointers?

If you accidentally leave the key in the car-- the car will lock.
If you are washing the car after pulling it outside.. it will lock.
How to disable it through coding? Tried 20 different combos from a reference link... to no result

Im having a similar problem with my standard 2.4 euro A6, im pretty sure its something to do with either the door contact sensors or the wiring looms going to the doors, pull back the rubber sheet next to the door hinges and check for frayed cables. my thinking is that if the frayed cables mean the car doesnt know youve opened the drivers door then it defaults to the action it would do if you unlock the car but dont open any doors.. which is to auto lock again after 1 minute.

Yes. The auto lock is supposed to only happen if you use the remote to unlock the car but do not actually open the doors. This is to prevent theft. If you accidently hit the unlock button while bending down or because have too much stuff in your pocket with the key fob, it will relock.
Agree with above. Perhaps bed wire.
Does it relock if you open the door? Which door?
