Coolant Temp issues
Coolant level is fine, car doesn't seem any hotter than normal under the hood.
Now when I go to work I'll make it a mile down the road and before the heater is even warm yet the car claims its up to the middle in the normal range.
Also after parking the car in sub 30 degree weather for 3 hours, I start it up and it jumps almost to the middle and in less than a minute will be reading supposed normal.
I just order the green top coolant temp sensor from ECS so I hope this is just a faulty sensor and not a problem with my thermostat or waterpump (they only have 10k miles on them.
What is it with cheap sensor on Audi's? You'd think for these cars being high end they would use quality parts and not pieces of **** that only live til the warranty runs out. I love Audi don't get me wrong but if I wasn't an enthusiast this thing would be getting traded in on something more reliable in a heart beat. I hate to say it but I'd probably trade it for an American car, that new Malibu looks pretty sporty....
My mom has a new Impala with the 3.9L V6, not a bad car. It's not as classy as the Audi, but I bet it's more reliable. We use Impalas at work as squad cars. They are fairly durable for the most part. Not as good as the crown vic's when it comes to jumping curbs and what not (one guy busted up a control arm and subframe jumping a curb last week). But for a daily driver to get to and from work, commute, and travel on the highway in, not a bad car. But nothing special about it like an S4. Damn the fact that I'm a car nut and go for special high performance models. I have only owned one standard model car, and it was given to me. I always go for the special models when I'm footing the bill. It's a disease for me.

I;m constantly confused by the damn oil sensors on this car. I was under the impression that the screw/brass one on the US B5 was the pressure sensor, and the the one on the bottom of the oil pan was temp and level.
