Default TBB help

I had previous post about my 2000 S4 having surging issues. I was told this could be due to a boost leak. I was also told to check my TBB for tears, how is this process executed??

Best way is to just remove it and check.

Loosen/remove (2) 10mm bolts holding on the bi-pipes.
Loosen (2) clamps holding bi-pipe to TBB.
Pop the bi-pipes out of the TBB.
Remove the electrical connection to the MAP sensor, the MAP sensor is the sensor located on top of the TBB.
Remove the (2) allen bolts holding the MAP sensor bracket.
Loosen the clamp holding the TBB to the throttle body.
Inspect for damage.

Be careful when reinstalling not to over tighten or damage the TBB. Tears usually occure on the connection to the throttle body.

Turn the TBB "inside out" - obviously you can't actually do this, or at least I wouldn't try, but you need to flex it around to expose any tiny tears in the rubber. If it splits open on you then don't be pissed because that means it in crap shape anyway.

I have a spare stock TBB that is in good condition if you need a cheap replacement.
