Default Saving for Stage 3

Yesterday I started to hear a strange whistle like sound from the engine. I am most certain that it´s comming from one or both turbos. I also feel a lack of power.

What is the best way nowadays for Stage 3. I have been doing a little research and I have seen that APR or AWE kits are no longer the best way for going stage 3.

Thanks everyone.

How much are you looking to spend? As you increase HP more stock parts start to fall short.

you're kind of getting your stages confused. Stage3 is rs4 turbos and some brand of tune, AWE, ASP, VAST pretty much everyone has a tune for their rs4 kits. If you want to squeeze every last bit of power out of an Rs4 set-up you can get a custom tune.

For more power you need to go RS6, Tial or Garret. These cost more and are less bolt-on than the RS4 kits.

Thanks everyone. I have researched a little more now thanks to your comments.

What´s a good setup without getting into an engine rebuilt? I am thinking about the RS6 kit. I already have DP´s, catback, and RS4 clutch and flywheel.

My engine has only 50k (km, not miles), so I think it is still reliable.

Thanks

I would consider upgrading to a stage3 clutch from Vast if you do the Rs6 set-up. Maybe you can get a little money back for the RS4 one in the classifieds.

They are going to start you off with a pretty conservative tune to make sure that your engine isn't going to blow-up. After you drive it for a while you can get a retune and push more power.

I'ms still on the initial VAST RS6 tune - car had 110k on it when I did the install - no engine problems so far.

Just follow what VAST specs for the RS6 build. There's a few guys with the RS6's from VAST and they seem pretty happy - (and I'm still pretty jealous )

VAST will send you the turbo install kit but unless you ask for certain things they will assume you know what you are doing. You are going to need a high capacity fuel pump, the hitachi sensor conversion if you are a 2000MY, you have the samco hoses so you're good there but you're going to need better intercoolers.

I would go ahead and budget for all new mounts, phenolic spacers, various gaskets and seals and anything else you can think of that you might want to do. Better to tackle it all at once IMO.

Thanks everyone, I am probably going with a RS6 setup with VAST.

Just wondering, is the ARD 2.7T Garrett Turbo Kit used with stock internals?

Thanks
