Default Ronal RS6 Wheels - Real or not? Urgent.

Guys, really need your help.

I'm being offered brand new Ronal RS6 wheels for a good price. First of all, are Ronal wheels OEM?

The size being offered to me is 19x8.5". I have read on another forum that RS6 OEM wheels were only ever produced in 19x9". Is this true? Given that I am in Europe, any differences in OEM size?

I have seen Hartmann produce a RS6 replica in 19x8.5".

I am confused. Really need your help - only got a few days to purchase.

Thanks.

Yes, Ronal is one of the manufacturers on Audi OEM wheels. The also make wheels for a ton of other car companies.

Thanks. It's good to know Ronal are OEM.

But is the 19x8.5" size correct?

No those are not OEM.

OEM European wheels are 19 x 9. You might also want to check the offsets. 19x8.5 might be ok if the offset is et20. If I remember correctly stock offset is et20.

Thanks for the help. They are not OEM, but they are genuine Ronal wheels made for other models (not RS6). The offset was wrong as well. I'm going to keep looking...

The pictured C5 RS6 5-spoke wheel style was also produced by Audi in a smaller 18x8.5" ET30 size to fit US market RS6s. So figure that any size of this particular 5-spoke wheel style that's other than 18x8.5" or 19x9" quite likely isn't a genuine C5 RS6 wheel.

So 19x8.5" et35 made by Ronal are not OEM, but are Ronal replicas? I'm not going to purchase them now anyway. Going to get some 19x9 OEMs.

Are you in Europe?

You might not find the OEM C5 RS6 19x9s in the USA...unless you buy from Europe and ship for huge $$$. Bill Hartmann supposedly had a OE silver set for sale but that was never confirmed or denied.

I looked into a titanium painted set and it would cost me around 5 grand to get them shipped from Germany to Connecticut. I took the family to Disneyland instead!

The 18x8.5" RS6-like rim spoken of was an option on the late model V8 allroads...and prolly a few other V8 Audis.

Yeah, I'm in the UK. The set Ive found is genuine Ronal and is going for a very reasonable price IMO (Sold in the UK incl. delivery for 4 rims - just under $900).

I've been told that the RS6-style rim I found was used on various Audi models, just like you mentioned.

It's still not too easy to get OEM rims even here in Europe. Requires searching around. 18x8.5" isn't wrong and would fit ok, but I would rather wait for the 18x9".

I see gov'ner !! ...but really? ...its hard to find OE rims you say in the UK? I'm a bit late to your discussion...did you grab them or find the 19x9s?

900$ IS a good deal for real Ronals regardless....who's going to notice the lack of the 1/2 inch? (besides you)...many folks do not recommend spacers but they could give you the 9" look with a 10,12 or 15mm plate.

What sort of Audi are you putting them on? The 18x8.5" OE 9 spoke rims we got on our RS6s are et30s...but the 19x9" 5 spokes are the real bomb ! Great choice.
