i know someone selling her 03 fwd auto 1.8t 180 engine, but mine is an 01 amu 225 quaTTro 6spd, will the motors match up, i know its not as strong but its just untill i can build mine up.

Several people have dismantled both the 180 and 225 motor and found the part #s are the same. There is no difference in the strength of the block rods etc, it's a lower compression in the 225 because of the higher boost. That's not to say they were not upgraded for the original 2001 225, but for ease/ cost of manufacturing they probably moved on to the same components by 2003. In standard form bolting your K04 onto the 180 could give you more hp because of the higher compression.
The motor might fit but the auto transmission/ torque converter might be a problem. On some 1.8T Audi motors, the crankshaft end is different for the type of transmission.
BTW FWD auto TT's are very rare (chick car anyone?) so info is very sparse.
