Default APR - Stage I ECU - 91 Octane Feedback

Quattro AWP 8N '01 1.8T

Has anyone had this program written into their EMCS that can provide feedback? Looking for someone to push me over the fence on this one.

I don't have any specific questions, just looking for people who have done this to share their experiences regarding performance, fuel economy, ease of switching between programs using the cruise control, any problems they had, any experience with the customer service at APR.

Thanks a bunch. =)

Pratically every long term owner who posts on Quattroworld is chipped. No worries. Mine has had APR 93 for 6 years now. The switch works fine, but trust me , you never switch back to stock. The fuel mileage only suffers when you use the additional boost. Sometimes a marginal component like a MAF for example will fail due to the added air flow. My 225 gained noticably (6 more lbs of boost will do that) I would estimate that 0-60 times go down by close to one second. The main benifit though is at midrange rpm. A 3500 rpm 5th gear pull feels SOOOOO much stronger.
Sorry about your timing belt. That is a must do at 60-70 k. Ill be doing my second one in another 25k.
BTW while you have the head off, replace the PCV hoses and fittings under the intake manifold. They are chronic causes of boost leaks as cars age.

Default APR chip

4 years without problems. If your MAF is weak, the chip will push it over the edge and you will need to replace it. The performance improvement is very nice!

It is definitely worth it, the additional torque is phenomenal and the additional performance is very noticeable. As JP said once you set it to 93 Octane you will not switch back. I have had mine for about 4 years but I think my MAF needs to be replaced.
