Default Is a 90K mile TT a good for a daily driver?

Hey guys, I've been out of the "AudiWorld" for a while! I had a modified A4 for years, and still have my VW Passat...
My Passat has 220,000 miles on it and I'm looking to replace it with another daily driver. I've always loved the TT and I am seriously considering buying a higher mileage (80-90k) TT for every day use.
Both my cars had the 1.8. I've done all the work. Timing belts, drive shafts etc etc.

So my question... should I expect the same longevity out of the TT that I had with my A4 (210k+) and the Passat (220+)?

Thought?

I had an A4 for many years and we have had two more in the family.

The TT is basically a Golf.

The TT electrics are buggy (just like the old British Lucas )though, definitely a week point.

As you probably know the TT was a show concept that was brought to market with few changes in shape. Their is a lot of stuff that is awkward to get to.

But gas consumption is good, if you don't lead foot it 30 mpg is easy. Fun car to drive. The newer TT MkII is nowhere near as good looking.

Just rolled over 131k miles as a daily driver in Phoenix. Timing belt/WP at 90k, and this morning my fuel pump went out, but otherwise pretty reliable.

Is fuel pump replacement part of the maintenance schedule? or does one just wait until it breaks (to know to replace it)?

Wait until it breaks. Not all that hard to do. Sometimes they'll make odd noises before they give out.

is it obvious that the noise is coming from a malfunctioning fuel pump? never had one go bad on me before. can you still drive when the fuel pump goes completely bad?
