Default Stumble on acceleration

my 2001 225hp TT has been acting up recently when I accelerate hard. right when it is about to make boost the car will stumble for a split second then it makes power and feels fine. no CEL and once it starts to make boost it feels like it is making full power.
This is when the car is fully warmed up (I do not drive the car hard when it is cold)
It has been getting progressively worse over the past few months.

any ideas?
Thanks

Have you done a boost leak test?

Pete

no, not yet but I figured because it felt like it was pulling strong after the stumble that there was not a leak. but I guess it could be making enough boost to hide a small leak?

Anytime the car misfires or stumbles I always make sure I have all my bases covered.

Its the worst when you completely stress out about a problem the car is having and it ends up being something simple like a boost leak.

Good luck!

Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with.

Pete.

Thanks Pete! The more I drive it, the more it feels like a boost leak, or just not making boost. what started as a stumble now feels like like a flat line, just no power when it is supposed to make boost.
I did a boost leak test over the weekend from the hose right after the MAF to the throttle body and could not find anything leaking.

If the blow off valve was bad could it hold pressure during a leak test but not under driving conditions? The car has 136K miles on it and it looks to be the original part (has the oem clamps on it)

Could this problem be coil packs or spark plugs?

do you have VAG-COM? The car should have thrown a code by now, which would help a great deal in the diagnostic process.

I just had my friend scan it with VAG-COM and a hand held scanner and there were no misfire codes The only thing it came back with under the engine is

Just as an update, it was the spark plugs, replaced them and the car runs great though I have a feeling that my coil packs might be getting a bit weak.

My TT was suffering from the same issue for the past year and a half. Became noticeable after APR chip. The spark plugs where damaged from misfires (the stumbling you mentioned). Also replacing all four coil packs.
