New Tires and TPMS info
Prior Info:
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S +'s bought for roughly $1200 about a year and a half ago. Got me only 35k miles before they outsides and the whole tire wore quite a lot, in particular the front right tire, even after rotating the tires every 6-8k.
So my visit to discount tire goes like this:
1. Pro-rated tire warranty reimbursement: credited to me. Only achieved 35k of the 45k warranty on my Michelin's. (standard warranty through the manufacturer, I did not purchase a Discount Tire warranty at all to receive this) $47.56 x 4 tires = $190.24 Reimbursed
2. 4 Continental DWS 540 tread rating tires, $188 x 4 = $752. (not bad at all)
3. $100 Tire warranty, 4 certificates
4. Lifetime balance & Valves $64
5. 4 TPMS units, branded Beru (433mhz). $89 x 4 = $356 Total. (Matched tire rack's price right on the spot. Had to search under a 2006-2007 model year A8 to find the sensors, under 2005 a sensor wouldn't come up.
6. 4 TPMS Valve Kit Green Beru $7 x 4 = $28 total. (matched tire rack's price as well.
All in all I walked out of there spending $1,165.51 for a brand new set of tires and TPMS sensors.

Glad it worked out for you and saved a bit of cash!
I have about 3K miles on my DWS's and so far its been great. Tons quieter than the original Pirellis.
I got my 275/35/20s at $224 each at the beginning of April.
After I changed wheels' option it picked up the sensors and are now working perfectly. Then I strolled over to the Audi dealer just because it was convenient and on my way to get a new battery for my key fob (alert on dash to replace it); they replaced it in 2 minutes then told me to try it out. I did then went on my way, guess they didn't want me to pay for it?
Overall good day!
