Transmission oil change procedure
I’m not sure you need that. Unless you have really high mileage I would not even bother doing that. The filter itself does not make sense to change at all. In modern cars it is ALWAYS clean. Transmission fluid is very expensive and then you’ll have to do transmission adaptation. But even then you will not be able to change 100% oil
Personally I’ve changed transmission oil many times on my old Audi V8, 1991, but I’m not planning to change it at all in my Audi A8, 2007
Have you checked on filter specifically. From what I have understood, it may be integrated right into the lower pan...meaning you have to replace that whole unit. Maybe just call/stop by an Audi parts counter to find the answer to that. If it goes that direction, you could check with a ZF distributor too (and same for fluid), since underneath it's the AWD version of the standard ZF 6HP30. Another post referenced ZF prices are apparently more reasonable than Audi's, and obviously they know their own trannies as far as routine service parts.
