Air Con & Wheel Caps query ??
Hello all,
Firstly I have a 2003 A8 4.2 Sport with 19" 12 spoke alloys.
I've read lots of different threads about this and especially for the air con issue, but I thought I'd post a thread anyway.
Air Con
When I put the air con on a low setting in the summer I get lovely cool air coming from the centre vent closest to me but all other vents blow out slightly cool or luke warm air!
Basically if it's hot outside then despite trying all air con settings only 1 vent blows cold air.
Could this need a gas recharge or is it likely to be a faulty valve?
Alloy Wheel Centre Cap
Mine keep falling off!! They do look like they might be copies and no matter how tight I think they are on, within a few weeks off 1 will go! I've lined up the valve cap correctly but when doing this the centre cap won't go on properly?
Do the original Audi caps have a hole in the front which you need the small metal tool to remove them cos mine don't have this so they could be fake?

Welcome aboard!
First check the centre vent temp which can be adjusted with the setup button on the air con controls.
If it's not in the middle it will blow cooler air.
That's the extent of my air con knowledge, but there are a lot of folks here who know it better.
Yes - that's what the pin in the tool kit is for.

If there is air conditioned flow coming from any vent, then it isn't a question of needing a charge. It's either cold or it isn't. This sounds more like a mode door issue. Like jakematic, I'm no AC expert. An advanced search will uncover a number of posts regarding this exact issue though.
