fuel injector insulator '89 90 quattro

fuel injector insulator '89 90 quattro
trying to figure out how to remove the fuel injector insulator on my 89 90 quattro. i chipped one a little while trying to remove the upper injector seal. pretty sure at least one injector is not sealed right causing emissions problems. should i replace all the insulators?

I've not done this and have no idea. As they are perhaps plastic, might they break on removal? Do they have an internal hex? Perhaps they screw in like these:

they show the insulators seperately on autohausaz website. after looking at the injector pictures i think they should just slide off the bushing on the injector itself. haven't tried it though. i was also wondering if i could find the procedure for testing the injectors themselves. i've seen it somewhere before but can't remember where. if i knew this was going to solve my problems i would throw down the cash for new injectors. thanks for replying
