what do u think about this A8, good deal or not?

I ran across this car, dont know alot about audis so i was wondering if anyone had any advice on it: good deal, bad deal, something i should inquire about it etc. my bro said that he wasnt sure if it had the 4.2 fsi or 4.2 pfi n that if it had the pfi that it might need to be replaced around now because of its mileage since the carfax never mentioned that. other than that it seems to be a decent deal to me. any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

You also want to check if it's an early 05 or late. 04's and early o5's had Onstar. I think AMI upgrades can't be done to those models. They may also be a little more prone to problems.

A more generic response to your question: It depends on the shape of the car.

I recently picked up a 2006 A8. Looking at the on-line pictures its hard to really see how nice the car is. I would look at one on-line and call the seller and the seller (a dealer) would tell me how nice the car is, but when I showed up in person, I generally wasn't satisfied.

I finally found one that was really clean, but it took awhile and I covered all of Michigan of much of the Chicago area.

I don't see why you couldn't add an AMI to an early 2005 or 2004 vehicle. The AMI attaches to the MOST fiber ring that the CD changer uses, so the electrical connection shouldn't be a problem. You also need to upgrade the MMI to 3360, but I know people here that have done that with older vehicles. Am I missing something?
