Door Pocket and Center arm storage replace?
While test driving a new A8L the other day, and deciding to put that off a bit, we figured we'd get a couple things fixed and keep the 06 a while.
Dealer called to tell me there is no easy fix for either, and that I need to REPLACE the driver armrest to fix that silly metal clasp, and would also have to REPLACE the driver door storage unit.
Anyone else been down this road and have any other advice? Is there any sort of 'kit' for the opener on the center armrest? Reason is, the interior is beige, and I am pretty sure after 6 years, even as clean as I keep them, that a new one won't match and I'll end up replacing both ($400 each installed, or thereabouts)....
Thanks.
There used to be a kit sold, but I can't find hide nor hair of it anymore or who sold it.
I priced the armrest from AudiUSAParts and they run ~$280 each.
If a massive commission cheque comes along the plan is to buy both.
For now I'm living with it and thinking about using some magnets or velcro.
Did you talk to Kenn at AoC about the door unit ?
Seems odd you'd have to replace the whole thing.
Kenn mentioned a kit yesterday, but today the info was replacement of entire part, no such kit. If you find one, let me know.
Thanks.
Talk to Tony M when you are ready to buy.
He'll do you right and he's a friend of mine.
Shokan might have the armrests but used could be hit and miss too.
Hey how much was the SW update ?
Am debating since I'm at 2740 but nothing is really wrong.... not something I'm interested in doing myself though.
Thanks-Jake
