Interior Constant 12V Source

I'm installing a new head unit. The old one used the factory constant 12V, but the wire is rather small. I'm hoping to find a good place to hook up inside the car without going directly to the battery, but if there is nothing to be found I'm not against it.

Has anyone found a good place inside the car to hook up a constant 12V?

Not a bad thought. Know what size fuse is on that circuit? How big is the wire?

Is this for a B3 or B4? Not 100% sure about B4's, but I know in the B3's there are two +12v sources under the drivers side dash. It's been a while since I hve been under one, but there are three plastic distribution blocks with brass spade lugs - one red, one yellow and one black. They are modular and snap into each other. Again, it's been a long time, but I think the yellow is constant and the red is switched, though that could be reversed. I awlays grab them whenever I come across them at the junkyard because they come in handy! If I had any here at the house I'd snap a photo for you, but they're at the shop.

It is a B3. Are they attached to the large relay block under there? I know I've seen a yellow block just hanging out there. I'm really hoping to find a circuit around 20-30 amps with 14 AWG.

Any head unit drawing 20-30A isn't going to want to be installed in a dash due to heat build-up and failure.

Been there, done that, t-shirt says don't do it.
