Cost of new brakes and rotors
Guys-
I'm getting close to needing a brake job and wondering what it costs at the dealer so I can plan for it.
To clarify:
- no I'm not doing it myself, no time or desire
- no I'm not going to an indy
- yes I said dealership

Rotors
the front rotors retail for 170 each
the rear rotors retail for 120 each
front pads retail for 170
rear pads retail for 80
that adds to $830.00, keep in mind they will charge at least 10% over retail
labor wise they will charge you 4 hours for pads and rotors, depending where you are the labor varies, here is at 185.00 and hour.

I just replaced front discs & pads - genuine parts £112 for the pair of discs and about the same for the pads.
It took about 2 hours all-in including cleaning up the hubs and caliper brackets etc.
It really is an easy job - the hardest part is putting the wheels back on!

Rear Rotors and Pads
Just bought a pair of Zimmermann rotors and Textar pads for the rear. Cost $168 delivered from Partstrain.com. Ordered on Friday and delivered on Monday. I have a vag com and I suspect that the installation will be a little over an hour.
