had to replace trunk latch today...
my trunk would no longer latch, even if I slammed the deck lid closed manually. When the lid was open I tried to trip the latch with a screw driver,but it would not trip. That told me it was a mechanical failure and not an electronic glitch. Fortunately the dealer had a latch in stock, which means it must be a common failure. Relatively inexpensive at $45.
R&R of deck lid liner was easy...there are two hidden screws in the hand pull. But I am puzzled by the two rubber bumpers on the bottom edge of the liner...they have a spring loaded plastic plunger that pops out if the plunger is rotated with a philips screw driver. Anyone know what their purpose is ?
