Newbie questions/confusion

I recently purchased a 2005 A8 SWB. I am exploring the options of adding satellite radio, bluetooth and iPOD functionality. I have read dozens of posts on these subjects as well as contacting my local Audi Stealer ( as well as a few out of town ones, they said $3000-4000!! ) and i'm more confused now than ever. Here is what i have/know

there is no AMI installed
there is no satellite module installed
I have the onstar version
MMI version 4606

can i install a satelitte module in this? ( sounds like i can )
what is the part number and does it matter if XM or Sirius now thye are merged?

can i install an AMI?
is the AMI better than Mobridge or Denison? any more options?
what is the part number for the AMI ( 4E0 057 785 ? )

Yes, you can install the AMI, and the part # is 4E0-057-785-B. You would also want to purchase the retrofit kit, part # 4F0-051-592-A, which provides a Y power cable and extra fiber optic cable to add the AMI to the MOST fiber ring. You will also likely need a new glove box insert to hold the AMI unit in the glovebox. If you want Bluetooth for music (the phone adapter is a different thing entirely), you want part # 4F0-051-510-J.

However, you might want to consider the Mobridge, as I've heard that it provides the same music functionality, plus adds BT for telephone, and is undoubtedly cheaper than the AMI. Personally, I don't have any experience with the Mobridge (or Denison for that matter), so I suggest that you search the forums for more info.
