Default Will 255/55R18 tires fit, bluetooth puck questions and FloorMats

I'd get a set of 255/55R18 NEW continental 4x4 contact tires for a sum of 123€ PER SET from my workplace. I know that they'll physically fit under the car, but they are 1" higher at radius than the normal 45 series tires i have, and the 55 series will be extremely close to touching the wheel arches. Anyone tried this size under the A8?

265/40R20 should fit, at least for the 4H there are sets of these, and the 255/55R18 aren't much bigger than those.

Second question, i have a 2005 week 19 produced A8W12 and it has the integrated motorola phone. My Nokia N95 8gb finds Audi Phone xxxxx bluetooth connection, but can't connect. Would buying this part number help to pair my phone with the MMI? 8P0051440A

And a third question, I'm, tired of the rubber mats on the floor, they look disgusting, and they just spread all the dirt to the edges of the mats and under the mats. I'd like to have a set of normal carpet mats, but my local audi dealer asks 330euros for them, while i can find prices on the VAGCAT.com for around 115euros/set of 4. That's a big difference.

I bought a set of mats from a seller here in England on Ebay - they are genuine Audi and the correct colour for the fitted carpet. This is his store - http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Discounted-...-VW-Audi-Parts
It is just down to luck whether he has what you want. In my experience, it is not worth buying non-genuine mats - they are never as good quality and will look tatty in less than a year.

As for the tyres, if you go to 255/55/18 you will raise the overall gearing by about 7.5% - this is quite a lot and will be really noticeable in the effect on acceleration. Your speedo will be show about that amount under your actual road speed as well - which is not good for points on your licence either!

It is possible they are not suitable anyway, even if they do fit - I suspect 255/55/18 tyres are suitable Touareg/X5 etc... my wife's Touareg has that size and they are big heavy tyres.

Your MMI issue might simply need the software updating - there are quite a few posts on here regarding that and I can give you the part number of the Euro CD set - it is very cheap and providing you folllow the procedure to the letter - battery charger connected etc... it should go alright. Do a search and if you cannot find the part number I will dig out my CD set and let you know. The set is about €6 from a main dealer but they will most likely have to order it in for you so call first.

Thanx for the reply, i'll contact the guy on ebay if he can get hold on A8 4E mats for me (the webshop didn't at least emmediately display them under audi floor mats).

Yes, even tough the deal on the tyres is cheap like hell, i think i'll pass... would have got 2new sets for the price of one tyre, and i'd need both new sets (my winter and summer sets have both 3mm).

I've updated the MMI to 5150 from 1120, but in the MMI MOST ring list i can't find Handyvorb, so I suspect my car hasn't got the direct bluetooth module, only a module for the motorola. But i only updated the first CD from the set (to get my AMI working), haven't triede CD2 (handyvorb) and CD3 5150->5570.

Tough, the Audiphone xxxxx showed up in the bluetooth listing on my phone already before updating the MMI.

Run the update again and all discs - it is sometimes not fully updated on the first run - possibly due to the necessity to update modules in a set order?
