Nav Control Unit Interchangeability

Hey, I'm purchasing a 2005 W12 and it is missing the DVD drive for the navigation. Audi tells me that the part number I'm looking for is 4E0910887KX but this seems impossibly hard to find anywhere for less than about a grand. There are other nav units available on ebay for quite a bit cheaper like in the 500-600 range with similar serial numbers like 4E0919887M. Would these two units be interchangeable?

I'm upgrading from a 2004 A8L that I added a Sirius module to and I know that that part number didn't match the one it was supposed to have. How many of these parts just work on any of them?

4E0 919 887 M is not right, 4E0 910 887 M would be right. I cannot guarantee that it will work, but seems like it will. FWIW 4E0 919 977 is the mounting cage for the nav unit. But the part number you got does not match

The other parts for the ROW (rest of world) 4E0 chassis end with L, LX, Q, QX and T, TX, but the numbers are the same. Avoid DX (China) or B and H (Japan). KX does not show on the list I have access to, but it probably is the latest model with the latest firmware. I would think the older models should work without too much problem.

Thanks for the quick response! The specific auction I was looking at is here. I guess the number is probably that far off because its from an A6 and a few years newer. I think I'll take your advice though and try to find one that matches the 910 moniker just to be safe. Thanks again for your help!
