Default 88 90 q Tie Rods

I need the part # for the tie rods. The VIN # split for this car is killing me. If I wasn't on the wrong side of it I would have no problems finding suspension parts but I am so it's almost impossible to find ball joints and tie rods that have big enough shafts. So anyone else haveing this trouble or was mine the only one? There is a dirty joke in there somewhere but I really could use the help though.

In trying to loosen the nut touching the tie rod end the inside end(threaded, bare) came out of the inner tie rod. I cannot put this back on the car now because the peice that I am holding in the one pic rotates with the nut. So that option is out my question is can I get the threaded part somewhere so I don't have to try and replace the whole tie rod looks reall hard to get at inner bolt with tools.

I can put the threaded part back in the car but won't be able to wrench the nut down on the tir rod end(part that I am holding). It turns freely

Don't be afraid....those two bolts holding the inner ends of the tie rods to the steering rack unit are not as difficult as they look. You need a couple variations of 17mm wrenches to get at them. I think maybe easier from underneath. You should have poly-lock nuts there, so it becomes tedious having to wrench them all the way off.

Look at a picture on the EKTA parts list. If I recall correctly, you take the nuts off the tie rod ens, then you still have to remove the vertical nuts/bolts from the steering rack end to get it apart.

Remember, your can move the work to an ideal spot by turning the steering wheel one way or the other.

Good luck
