Default Reverse Lights on all the time...WHY??

Car is a 1995 90s with Auto Trans. Is the switch shot? Where is it located? I've been told it's either on the console next to the shift or on the transmission it self...which is it?

you might also check your trunk wiring harness. after a while of being flexed back and forth the wires tend to crack, break, and short. Me reverse lights stopped working and I check the trunk harness. It had like 5 broken wires in it.

This is true........... Those wires along with the ignition switch cause a lot of wiring problems.

Amen to that. I replaced my trunk harness and a ton of little electrical gremlins disappeared. Everything from fog light issues to the central locking was affected. Stuff that didn't even have anything to do with the wires in that harness. Then it started popping fuses....it will only get worse if not looked after. Found a harness at the wreckers for $10. Stripped the wires back and soldered in a new section.

I replaced the broken section of mine with a new piece of 7 conductor wire I got from Allied supply.

https://www.alliedelec.com/search/pr...px?SKU=6550172

It's a bit larger than the stock cable, so the stock clips won't work but with some appropriate application of zip ties, holds in place quite well.

Big note on Allied, they have a minimum order, so there will be a surcharge if you only order like 5 feet of it. I couldn't find better cable for less, so I went with it.

I also couldn't find a reasonably priced stock replacement, so this was my best option.

I used what's called nine wire. I think its made by streetwirez. It's what I use at work for hooking amps in the back of a car to the deck in the front of the car. It's basically a clear plastic sheath with 9 individual wires in it (2 wires for each of the 4 speakers, and the remote turn on wire). I took about a yard of that, pulled out the extra wires I didn't need, and spliced it in. It worked great. You should be able to pick it up from any dedicated sound shop.
