Default pulling the climate control panel

Dear all, I have searched the forum for a while but could not find help concerning how to pull the manual control panel without breaking the commands . I have a replacement panel but I need to save the 3 control commands from the old panel. Thanks for your help

Manual CC in a B4?

If so... put a rag over the dial to protect the plastic from the players and use pliers to pull the *** straight out. Take note of ***** position before you remove them so you can put them back on in the same position.

I would turn them all all the way to the right or left before removal to keep it simple.

you will then see 3 screws that need to come out. the wood trim, you just pry it off carefully and it should expose anything else that needs to be removed.

Default Sorry, I have an auto tranny.

Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it. I did not buy this car for too much money but I had to fix few issues during Spring 2011 (shot axles and suspensions, gas leak) and the bills are piling up. The engine is only 85K and runs strong, the tranny pulls fine, it's just after driving home from work, I smell a strong fluid smell and from time to time a small puddle on the garage floor: but all accessible fluid levels are checking out? My mechanic change the trans fluid at the same time he did the other jobs...

if it is an auto...you have a dipstick for tranny fluid. I suggest you read your user manual
