Lago Blue.... I need info on the spring "isolators" you made
I was just wondering if you could post or email me some info on this so I can attempt to make my own.
Thanks.

I still suspect that the amount of experiment time and trimming required to fashion them into something that would:
a.) stay put;
b.) survive the energy input long-term; &
c.) provide the desired benefits...
satisfactorily would have made me wish I had started with a clean sheet of paper and just some raw material. So that is what I did. However as I did not try that route, I would welcome any news of other approaches, should one so choose.
When I was done, my isolators resembled an example of something you might find to indicate a musical score, or some odd print type font. They are "round", but only in a manner of speaking.
Our springs and perches have "pig-tails" towards the insides, as opposed to the commercial isolators, which appear to be fashioned for springs without pig-tails, where the spring wire is first cut and then ground flat so that the spring will stand perfectly vertical on a plain flat surface. Not so ours.
Our springs, which can be made to work perfectly well and silently, exhibit noise, force, wear and movement characteristics that are particular to their pig-tail features that are certainly different than what I expected to find.
I was able to buy a very good MacPherson Strut/Spring Compression Tool second hand, which greatly eased the work load of the hundreds(?) of times I have had the suspension out.
I don't think one can really know how good an otherwise OEM suspension can be until you have incorporated isolators on your main suspension springs.
