Audi A6 Full LED vs Xenon
I'm about to place an order for a new A6 and did a quick search on the full LED option. I can't seem to find an A6 with just the xenon's and LED DRLs vs the Full LEDs at night. It's probably the only option that would entice me to get the prestige vs the prem plus. Does anyone have any pictures? On a side note, how do I get the forum to display thread messages oldest first (instead of newest first). Thanks for any and all help!!

get prestige, you seriously wont regret it.
IMO LED headlamps are a bit before their time, knowing how LED's work and a vast experience working with them in the field i just don't see them being reliable. and after warranty god only knows how much a replacement LED lamp will cost
thats JMO.
Call me crazy but i love the way they look but HATE the way the LED "pipe" is broken up individually for the turn signal.
Just get the prestige with xenon's, you will be happy and saved an extra $1,200+-
go into you user CP and you should see a box called settings, click on that and down about 3/4 of the way you should see forum display options

Of serious note. I enjoy they everyday. The looks you get. The way they look when you're behind a black car. The performance and great color and output. There ad no negatives. Best $1200 spent on the car.

I agree. Also my favorite part of the car. They are the eyes to its soul!!

LEDs are suppose to be more reliable and last longer than Xenon bulbs, also, LED's brightness do not fade as they age like Xenon bulbs. With that said, I did not get the LED set up simply because I think $1400 is a lot of money for a set of headlights. I also dont like the way the LED lights look when they are off. I bought the prestige due to the option package, not the LED headlights.

LED headlights are fantastic ! Don't fret over that option, just order it :-) Do you have an iPad? If so, there is an iPad app for the A6 on the Audi site. It has 3 great pictures of the headlights in low beam, DRL and turn signal modes.
By signing in as a user, the order is oldest at bottom and newest at top. If you want to see the oldest at the top, just don't sign in.

Not as bright as Xenon
I have LED headlights on my 2008 LS600hL.
The headlights are LED, but the highbeams are standard! Is this true on the A6?
I don't have my A6 yet, so I don't know if this is true, but the LED's on the Lexus don't seem to throw out as much light as Xenons.
The light that the LED's produce is pure white, vs bluish for Xenon and yellowish for standard headlights.
The Xenon's (on a previous BMW) seem to cause more oncoming car headlight flashing (telling me that my highbeams are on, when they aren't) then the LED's.

I believe the Audi high beams are LED as well. We looks at the LED headlight on the Lexus RX450h, its not as bright as the HID. When we compare the Audi LED headlights on the A6, the LED was a bit brighter. I think Audi's LED technology is way ahead of Lexus'. In fact, I think Lexus implemented their LED headlight too soon, they should have have spend a bit more time and money to make them brighter.
