New ecm, still have check engine light
2314 Transmission to Engine control module circuit. - Check wires for breaks or shorts.
This seems strange to me because my car has a manual transmission. Wouldn't this code only have to do with an auto? Is there a procedure for installing a new computer that I'm missing? I'm going to try disconnecting the battery for 30 min. and see if it resets on its own.
Any ideas?
That problem mysteriously went away. Then, I had issues with my car stalling out at low idle (like when I shifted into neutral to turn a sharp corner). That problem also went away.
After that, I had issues with the car not starting (it would crank, but not start and run). After that issue stopped occurring, It started having its worst issue. The car will sputter violently, backfire, and stall while driving. This was the final straw because I didn't want that to happen on the highway going 75.
I thought that it could be a problem with the ignition module, but combined with all of the previously occurring issues I assumed it it was all related to the ecm. I grabbed an ecm with the same part number because I assumed it would be a direct replacement. I had not been getting this 2314 code before I changed the ecm, but now that I put the new computer in, I get the code every time I start the car. I don't know if there is a readiness monitor reset or a programming procedure for Audi ecms.
barring that making the light go away. the other option is calling the ecm manufacturer and pestering them for directions(few conversations with bosch helped me out when i was having ecu issues)
