Default Any messed up factory orders?

Hey guys...

So, I got an email from my dealership saying that my car has been built and is on its way here. Should be at the port by Tuesday/Wednesday most likely. Probably another 10 days to the dealership followed by prep time (I gather it's a couple of days from what I've read on here). I'm getting super excited, but at the same time, I can't shake this eery feeling that there will be something incorrect about the order. (It happened to my wife's BMW recently, painful). Anybody experience this problem of a messed up factory order, or did everything pretty much turn out smooth and perfect just like you had expected? I'm in need of some reassurance...

Smooth and perfect, no issues here. I had worried as well, since this was my first ordered car but everything went great (other than the wait!)

I'm sure it will be fine but I would think that since humans are involved mistakes sometimes happen. Hopefully your order will be perfect and will be enjoying your A6 soon.

Just curious. How long ago did you place the order?

Around December 18th, which seems like an eternity ago... I wouldn't even wish this wait upon my enemy. It's true torture...

Everything was perfect with my order....I even added the Driver's Assistance package after about a month of waiting.

Seems like Audi has a pretty good track record so far with new C7's...

No Issues and mine was delivered ahead of schedule. Only issue for me is that I didnt get active lane assist and I thought it was part of the innovative package. I ticked ever box except B&O

I just calculated 86 days from order placement to receipt of my A6, and the car came in exactly to spec. That said, the dealer seemed to have some difficulty pinning down the time it would arrive as it got closer to delivery. Management of expectations could have been better.

I would second lmbatts comment above that I was under the impression that the A6 Prestige with the driver assistance package came with Active Lane Assist. Many reviews talk about it, although apparently no US versions of the vehicle come with it despite Audi USA mentions of the feature on the A6. That said, the adaptive cruise control is exceeding my expectations so far, especially in full stop/go traffic.

Also, the car does not come with the trunk tie-down net that I had in my previous A4. Apparently it's no longer made? It was great to keep items from sloshing back and forth in the trunk.

The CD changer was missing when I took delivery of my A6, called Audi Canada they mentioned there was shortage and offered my ipod, CD changer in Canada is part of navigation system. Other than that all was fine & wait was too much approx 3 months. Worth the wait & I found reading this forum very helpful and lots of good resources.

Mistakes can happen ... my first A6 order (placed 10/31/2011, delivered 01/15/2012) was messed up the dealership. It was the first 2.0T they ordered, and the salesperson said the Cold Weather Package wouldn't be needed just to get front heated front seats because they were standard... By the time the car arrived they had figured out that it was only the 3.0 that had the standard heated front seats.

The car had to be reordered, this time with the Cold Weather Package, and will arrive at the end of March.

I was gonna say -- once the dealer puts the order into the computer, I think it's pretty-much a done deal unless there's a parts shortage (like with the back-up cameras). If there's an error, it's a human error because of a mis-key. I imagine that on the assembly line, it's hard to screw-up the options being put into a car because they're being delivered to the vehicle during assembly and would be obviously left over if not installed.
