Level sending unit is broken, Which one??
2000 A6 4.2
So my gas gauge is not working, it moves between full and 1/2 ( Not accurately)
from looking at parts online, there appears to be 3 different level sending units????
Can someone provide some clarity on this and possibly tell me whivh one i need to replace.
I have pulled out the one in the trunk after this problem started and moved it up and down. I reacted, from full to half.
Another note, This all began when my fuel pump went out.

Check with your dealer....there was a massive recall on the 2K4.2A6 fuel tank sending units....our car was in twice.
The car is of course 12-13 model years old, but your dealer should have some insight and some possible help on the sending units.
The 4.2 has one main unit, I believe, that sends level to your dash instrument cluster. The other units are used to level the tank contents from section to section within the tank. It's a large tank that is blow-molded to occupy the space available in the car and maximize tank contents.
