Timing belt job - thermostat

Default Timing belt job - thermostat
Darn. Thought I can 'wing it' on the timing belt job on my 2.7T (after I have done them on the 1.8T and 2.8 V6 a year ago).

Guess not!

After replacing pulleys, tensioner, waterpump, I noticed I still have the thermostat in the blaupart box (but NO instructions; in the past, they had some printed instructions in the box for the job).

Can someone please send me a link to a timing belt write up for the 2.7T?

When I took out the old waterpump, the thermostat did not 'jump into my sight', but likely, it is somewhere in that hole?

Guess I have to take the stuff off again (unless its not hidden under the water pump?)

at the top you have link called resources , go down to tech articles and then engine , you have lots of excellent diy posted there , and search engine in this forum would gave you some good info as well

It's not. It's just to the left of the waterpump, under a black or silver housing.

Nah. Not that bad (I have been punished much harder for stupidity before). Could be as little as 2 bolts to take the cover off.

I had to beat mine up with the wooden part of a hammer, and then play tug of war with channel locks to get mine out, have fun.

I used the nail puller part of a hammer and yanked that sucker out
