Audi 2001 TT door wedge alignment Part#
I need to replace the plastic door wedges that are located below the striker plate.
Does any one know what these are actually called and the part number?

These seem to be used on the roadsters only. They are called a catch plate and the L side is 8N7837031D, right side 8N7837032D and run 10.31 each. The gaskets for them are 8N7837037B for left, right is 8N7837038B for 30.00 each. Any questions please let us know. Thank you, Jeff.

Catch plate
Jeff, I ordered the catch plates that you suggested. The problem is the new catch plates are way thinner than the original ones.
My Audi TT is a 2001 Quattro Roadster.
Please see attached photos. The left one is original and the right one is the new one I received.
Seems like the parts should match. I don't want to use the new ones if they are incorrect.

Do you see any part numbers on your old ones? I don't see these used on other models or I'd compare part numbers thinking there was a miss-pick when ordered from Audi. When I look at the door, there are some updated parts used but nothing that appears to be in the area of the striker plate or catch plate.

The 8N7837031B supersedes to 8N7837031C, then to the 8N7837031D, and does this for the 032B, to C, to D as well. In tracking this part number change it only applies to the TT roadster. Coupes don't use this part nor do other models in the Audi line. I was hoping to get more information from other models including VW but I have nothing that tells me anything on why this change was made or if it's recognized that the part is physically different in the outer thickness as per your picture. I can only assume Audi did this for a reason and that the part should work. If it doesn't, as in the bolt pattern is wrong for example, I can call Audi. Then send the pictures you sent to me, and see if they can come up with an answer to this problem. See if the 2 bolt holes line up first, then test fit these new ones to the open door before installing them in the car to make sure the contour is a mate/match to the old ones. If something looks wrong, write down a detailed description so I can forward this to Audi with pictures and we'll figure it out.
