Default Can i put a BOV (blow off valve) in my TT?

I just bought a blow off valve (HKS BLOW OFF VALVE BOV SQV SSQV BLACK LIMITED) and i read on other forums that were non-audi specific and i read that i will need a performance chip from () or a chip from (http://www.gfchips.com/auditt.aspx) and this valve (http://motors.shop.ebay.com/__?_from...lve&geo_id=491) due to the closed loop system and the. Is that true or can i just run the BOV and be fine? this is the thread i read. (http://answers.yahoo.com/question/in...2161623AARemgu) Please help me outtttt!!!

You don't need a chip to run a BOV.

BOV's are not recommended because of the way the MAF and turbo is set up on an Audi. They cause the motor to run rich .

There are adjustable hybrid valves that allow a small amount of blow off, that way you you get the silly noise you want.

So with this ajustable valve I can tune it to allow some blow off and install the blow off valve I bought?

???

Your link doesn't work, it seems to be a search for a standard N75 diverter valve.

You remove the N75 valve and replace with the BOV, however this appears to be an aftermarket Subaru BOV valve so your car will run rich. It's not adjustable and it's not really appropriate for your TT.

But you bought it already so this is a moot point.

You are going to probably get a CEL sooner rather than later. Rich condition can potentially kill the catalytic converter and O2 sensors.

This is what you should have purchased, it's designed for a VW/Audi.

I'm gettin a million different people tellin me different things. A tech at an Audi dealership told me installing a bov won't hurt my car at all or make it run rich it will just make deceleration happen faster and like after 2 days my ecu will fix its self and compensate for the loss of air recirculating through my maf.

Must be a super secret part of the ECU program that does this. It's magic, and only takes 2 days. Unlike the tooth fairy, which is basically just an overnight thing.

Move along, nothing to see here.

Lol so ill just ignore that guy. But now ok how would I compensate for the engine running rich with that particular bov? Do I get a more powerful intake? Or do I need to run a performance chip? Or is there something else I can do?

You can't really do anything. OEM is a recirculatiing valve and the MAF is set to work with a certain amount of air - a BOV vents the air so the MAF wil cause the car to run rich (under deceleration). I don't think the the car will "compensate" for this ever. If you want the "BOV" sound you can get a cold air intake or some kind of "open" intake and you will hear the air "recirculating" and wont have any drivability issues (car can also stall when you decelerate fast due to the overly rich mixture).
Good luck....
