SAI valve vacuum hoses, what to do with them?
2001 Audi A6 2.7T APB engine
So I want to install the block off plates, but there are these small hoses that go to the valves on both sides of the engine. What do I do with those small hoses?

come on, someone has to know. right now i left them open and everything seems fine...
also, I really think I have a clogged spider hose. the part where all the hoses come together in the middle has oil all over it.
so should I plug the 2 small vacuum hoses that used to go to the combi valves or what? They both join together in the middle of the back of the engine and then it goes under the intake manifold to lord knows where...

Why are you removing the combi valves?
Most every one here keeps and or repairs the SAI pump and combi valves to aide the cats during start up and not throw cel's.
You can plug both hose's otherwise you will loose vacuum when the solenoid at the other end calls for the valves to open via diaphragm.

if I had cats to heat up then maybe, but the sai system is useless now...

of course I do, I live in NYC, but I learned that if you clear codes, then go to block 77 hold the rpm at 2500-3k rpm, switch to basic settings, you can pass the secondary air injection, bungs on my o2 sensors. =D

But you won't pass the visual inspection...removal of pollution devices contravenes NY code.
Maybe the inspector won't look, maybe he will.
In MD they don't even pop the hood...just plug into the OBDII connector. Probably the same in NYC.

seriously, even if they did look under the hood, every single mechanic I ever took my car to had no clue what the hell was under the hood of an audi. and yea, they dont open the hood. like they would see anything anyway, the bungs are under the car...
