2.0TDi Manual MPG
Hi all
I have just taken delivery of an A6 2.0TDi 177 SE in ibis white and will get some photos up soon!
Just wanted to report my MPG figures taken from the OBC over the past week. I have been pleasantly surprised as even though the engine is brand new and very tight, on my 30 mile commute with approx. half of that on A roads, I averaged 50.4 today and that is with just 400 miles on the clock. On the whole tank, the halfway point has just been reached and I have covered 303 miles. I am very happy with this and also just how smooth an quiet the new VAG tdi engine is. I reckon that after a few thousand miles, I should consistently be able to get into the 50s.

I have done about 500 miles since taking delivery on 2nd March. First 200 miles averaged late 30s. Playing with gadgets, new engine etc.
next 300 averaging 43 to 44 mpg in a mixture of stop start traffic, and some motorway. Certainly not bad for the kind of journeys. If it inches upwards a few mpg in coming months, that will be fantastic.
Haven't touched Eco mode yet

I have done around 400 miles as well. Average across the whole tank so far is showing as 45 on the OBC, but I did get 50 the other day on my usual commute. I reckon it will definitely start inching up when the engine gets run in.
