Why 2012 Audi A6 looks small from outside?

exterior style is great but sometimes when i look it. it looks really small

Looks much bigger than the Passat we traded in for it. Especially when pulled into the garage.

For some reason, the A6 does look small, must be the design. The 5 series looks much bigger than the A6 but the A6 is actully a bit bigger than the 5 series dimension wise.

Certainly the new 5 series looks longer to me... I think it's the front end. I think the A6 is more proportionally styled though.

You're not alone Taktix1.

With the wheelbase extended for the C7, which reduced the overhang, might give an illusion that it looks shorter than it actually is. The C7 is actually significantly longer than my C5 corvette.

I really agree with this, I have moments when I think wow the car looks massive, but then other times I think it really looks small next to the 5 Series. I really only notice the size of the car when I am in a parking garage and the car always massively overhangs the bay.
