Default C7 A6 2.0 Quattro Comming soon

In conversation with a sales guy at my Dealer, and he mentioned that the C7 A6 with the 2.0 engine will get Quattro this fall.

I don't have any confirmation of this, but it is cool news.

Interesting, I wonder how well it will perform in the snow.

odd..wonder if thats true. I'd imagine the added weight will make it significantly slower. Unless they are ditching the CVT too.

It's gutsy of Audi to package that motor in such a big/heavy car in the US. Even in the current A4 avant, the 2.0t can feel sluggish off the line.

Unless - they bring in the 2.0 tdi engine and get rid of the CVT (hope/hope)!

I asked him about diesel/hybrid options, but he didn't know anything about them coming

BMW 335d did terrible in the US... Not much other high end diesels here... it just wont work.

Demographics in USA = hybrid... and if you can afford a luxury car, you only buy the hybrid to feel better about yourself, since most high end hybrids barely even get 30mpg. just my 2 cents

If they come up with a CVT/quattro package, wouldn't that be a first? I don't think there is any appreciable weight advantage of CVT anyway over tip anyway.

The CVT A6 is only about 180lbs heavier than the CVT A4. So by extrapolation, the A6/2.0T/quattro/tip should also be only about 180lbs heavier than the A4 tip/quatto, or about 3985lbs. That's not too bad. Remember that the early B5 A4 came with a 150Hp engine. With tip/quattro, it was maybe 10% lighter than the A6 2.0T/quattro would be. OK, it was kind of slow

What would be really cool is a manual 2.0T A6, perhaps with Hp bumped to 230-240Hp.

It was significantly more expensive than the gasoline 3s. I think that's why it didn't sell.
