Long story short: took my wife to work, no problems with car. got home parked up, went to get in car to pick wife back up from work, car wont start. fuel is getting through, loads of compression in engine. A couple of people looked at it, scratched thier heads & left.
After it's been sat in my drive for 2 months without being started it goes to Audi main dealer ( on truck ) for some recoding to be done. They recoded fine but came back to me & said "it's got no compression" when they try to start the car it makes a whining noise rather than a turning over noise.
My question is this, how can i get the compression back up & what would cause it to drop so much just by standing in my drive for 2 months.
thankyou in advance.
When you try to start it, does the engine actually turn over? Look under the hood to see if the belts and things at the front of the engine actually turn while you have someone turn the key. If not, then there's a problem with the starter.
Also, what "recoding" did they do? What codes was it or is it throwing now?
Jim
i'll get someone to have a look & see whats happening with it when i turn the key.
thankyou guys,
i'll get back to you when the car is brought back on tuesday
